Orlando | Summer 13 Adventures

This summer we have done more traveling than usual. Thus presents my first series of posts, Summer 13 Adventures. Every Wednesday I'll post about our travels or things I've been doing this summer (or at least I'll try. Work and school keep me busy.). Enjoy the first installment!

My dad had a business trip a week ago in Orlando, Florida. Naturally, we went with him and I took pictures of stuff. No surprise there.

The fancy hotel is designed with ocean-inspired decor, like this barnacle light fixture. As Orlando is a popular tourist spot, we often heard people at the hotel speaking different languages. Mostly, we heard Spanish and Japanese.

There is a Starbucks inside the hotel (!). We of course had to visit it and pretend to be all hipster-like with our non-fat, decaf, raw Hawaiian-sugared, iced coffees. Say that three times fast.

More photos of Florida coming soon!

Pie + Puppies

Apple pie and fluffy, adorable, puppies.

What could be better on a Sunday afternoon?

Maybe apple pie and ice cream?

This is Gracie and Jack, my Aunt and Uncle's Golden Doodles.

And yes, Jack is a Golden Doodle, even if he isn't golden.

But he sure knows how to pose for the camera. He'll sit still and just stare at the camera for you. One of the best dogs I've ever photographed!

Gracie, the golden Golden Doodle, is a rambunctious, energetic, sweet puppy, who knows how to pose for the camera just like Jack. Aren't they the cutest?

S | Backyard Portraits

These photos were the result of a spurt-of-the-moment photoshoot. This is my lovely sister. She loves it when I say "I want to take a few pictures, it'll take a minute"...not really. But she continues to be patient with me. This was one of those times. :)

Independence Day 2013

Every year our town puts on a firework display on Independence Day and my family always makes the short trip downtown to join the crowd. This year, we joined some friends for some pre-fireworks frozen yogurt  before we staked our claim on the grassy lot downtown amongst the cacophony.

Whether or not the decision to eat a cold dessert before sitting outside in the dark on the coldest 4th of July I've ever known was a good decision, I will leave up to you, but I believe that frozen yogurt is always a good idea.

Don't you think so? I mean, look at this:

(please note that I did not take a picture of my fro-yo that day so I found this picture I had from last summer. Proof that I don't take photos of my food as often as my family thinks I do. ahem.)

...anyway, here are a few firework pictures for your enjoyment. :)

I hope you had a great Independence Day!
